Our Story: The Heart Behind Inching India
Inching India is more than a handcrafted ethnic fashion brand. It is a family legacy born out of resilience, passion, and a deep respect for Indian craftsmanship.
A 25 Year Legacy of Personal Connection
Long before our official launch in 2020, the foundation of Inching India was being built inside two separate homes. Sisters in law Pooja Khanna and Rachana Khanna each ran their own intimate home boutiques. For over 25 years, they dedicated themselves to creating bespoke, custom designed outfits for a deeply loyal clientele.
They did not just sell clothes. They built lasting relationships, often spending hours over a cup of tea with a single client to perfect the design, embroidery, and silhouette of just one outfit.
The Catalyst: Protecting Our Artisans
When the global pandemic struck in 2020, footfall to the home boutiques vanished overnight. Our family's biggest concern was not just the quiet boutiques - it was the survival of the master artisans and weavers who had brought our designs to life for decades and become a part of our extended family.
To ensure these skilled craftspeople did not lose their livelihoods during such a devastating time, our family came together to make a bold pivot. We merged our decades of bespoke experience, digitized our operations, and officially launched Inching India.
A True Family Effort
What started as an emergency mission to save our artisans jobs quickly became a beautiful, all hands on deck family project. Our very first campaign was completely homegrown. Rachana's daughters, Anoushka Khanna and Aadhyaa Khanna, stepped in to model the garments, while Pooja's son, Vasu Khanna, picked up the camera to shoot the entire campaign.
That same spirit of joy and collaboration remains at the core of who we are today. We still operate as a close knit, family run brand where we genuinely have fun working together, creating exquisite garments, and happily serving our community.
